Member of the Month: Stantec
The Stantec community unites approximately 25,000 employees working in over 400 locations across six continents. We collaborate across disciplines and industries to bring buildings, energy and resources, environmental, water, and infrastructure projects to life. Our work—engineering, architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, surveying, environmental sciences, construction services, project management, and project economics, from project concept and planning through design, construction, commissioning, maintenance, decommissioning, and remediation—begins at the intersection of community, creativity, and client relationships.
Our firm has established a local presence serving Minnesota clients going back more than 60 years. It is a reputation we’ve built over time with our clients through a strong commitment to excellence, superior project management skills and close attention to cost-effective environmental solutions. With a long-established presence in the region, our focus has always been on local communities. Stantec continues to be a leading firm providing environmental services in the region. As 2,600 environmental services staff covering 20 technical specialties, we know what to look for, we know what’s required, and we excel at finding ways to match those requirements with project goals. You could say we know a little something about the environment.
Stantec staff are currently working on a Metro Transit bus garage and operating facility project targeting Net-Zero Energy and will comply with the State of Minnesota Sustainable Building Guidelines (B3 Guidelines), a sustainability tool that the State has adopted in place of LEED. The outcome is a facility that provides daylighting and views for the operators while controlling solar heat gain, provides rooftop exterior amenities without significant added cost, mitigates traffic noise and glare for its occupants, and is highly durable at the ground plane; an important criteria for this zero lot line configuration on a high traffic road/sidewalk in our northern climate.
We invite you to learn more about our work on our website and follow us in our social media channels.
