Solidarity in the world we’re building together
During the current surge of federal agents in Minnesota, Environmental Initiative has been taking steps to care for our staff and partners on days when anxiety is high, the feeling of danger is palpable for many of us, and when it is hard to focus on our work.
Our actions of care and solidarity are motivated by our mission, vision, and values. We believe that we are deeply interdependent and must reach across difference to effectively advance sustainability and justice. Through our day-to-day efforts, we actively work against polarization, reinforcing that the antidote to division is relationship. We know these relationships help us create the just world we seek.
This vision is apparent in our partnerships, from our clean air projects that reduce health risks through the efforts of business, government, nonprofits, and communities, to our work to support farmers in implementing regenerative agriculture—including collaboration between companies and NGOs working for climate mitigation and rural vitality.
We know that by continuing to do our work the way we do at Environmental Initiative, we are helping to build a world based on relationship rather than fear, and on an understanding that we are truly in this together, bound in a web of mutuality and interdependence. We know it is a gift to have work like this to do right now, and we are grateful to everyone who makes that work possible.
