I worked in non-profits in a few different areas and I was interested in doing environmental work. On top of that, I was really intrigued by EI’s collaborative approach to solving problems.
I worked in nutrition programs at Second Harvest Heartland. While I was there, I learned not only about the disparities in food insecurity in Minnesota but also that in order to address those disparities, it was essential to build trust with external partners who were involved in our programs. Without those inter-organizational relationships, we would never have been successful in distributing food.
I get satisfaction knowing that the work that we are doing is contributing to a vibrant future for all Minnesotans.
