Rep. Athena Hollins (DFL) District: 66B (invited)
Participating legislators will speak to:
- How they plan to address climate change, including transforming the energy system, in the upcoming session.
- What specific issues and policies the environmental community should keep an eye on in 2021.
- How they will engage communities most impacted by climate change and affected by changes to the energy industry and economy through policy design and decisions.
In this year of tremendous change and concurrent crises—including a pandemic, economic recession, deepening racial disparities, political polarization, and civil unrest—we have all been forced to sharpen our focus, whether on immediate needs or the root causes of future threats. Our 2021 Legislative Preview will be no exception. We will focus on climate change, the existential threat that touches all parts of our economy, puts many of life’s support systems at risk, and is already disproportionately harming our most economically vulnerable communities, particularly many communities of color.
