2018 Environmental Initiative Awards

Help us honor the people and projects who create collaborative solutions to issues at the intersection of Minnesota’s environment, economy and society at our annual awards celebration on Wednesday, May 23, 2018.


Join us for an inspiring night of networking and celebration with nearly 500 of Minnesota’s environmental leaders, and help us reach our fundraising goal during the event of $15,000. The evening includes a reception, formal dinner, and awards program to honor the eight award recipients:

Frank Vacellero co-anchors the 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. CBS Channel 4 news Monday through Friday with his wife, Amelia Santaniello. Frank has been an anchor in the Twin Cities since 1996. Before coming to Minnesota, Frank worked at WAND-TV in Decatur, Illinois and at WHOI-TV in Peoria, Illinois as an anchor and reporter. The Society of Professional Journalists recognized Frank with its broadcast award for Investigative Reporting in 2008. He was also awarded the 2011 and 2012 Regional Emmy for Best Anchor.
