I was drawn to Environmental Initiative’s innovative approach to environmental issues and its diverse partners and stakeholders. After attending its annual legislative preview, I knew Environmental Initiative was the organization for me, to make a difference in my community.

While in college, I volunteered with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and it changed my career trajectory completely. I knew then that I wanted to make a difference in my Hmong community, and in the world, to share knowledge and resources to allow communities to make decisions to improve their lives and the environment.

Working across projects with partners from government, business, non-profit, academia and the community brings me joy and hope that we’re all working towards the same goal of building a better environment for future generations. This allows me to collaborate with different perspectives while making small, and impactful changes.

I am inspired by my grandma and my parents, and their determination to give their families a chance at a better future.
