Environmental Initiative events are different. Collaborative from the start, we seek input and ideas for topics and speakers from people working on environmental issues in all sectors. The diversity of perspectives represented in the planning stages and at each event enriches the conversation and provides a unique opportunity for networking and shared learning.
Bringing together business leaders to proactively address environmental issues impacting the business community, we connect people to action and provide tangible takeaways through case studies and small group breakout sessions. Events in the 2011 series will include tools to help attendees more effectively lead and strengthen sustainability programs.
Environmental Initiative plans and hosts a series of informative half-day sessions on environmental issues for business, government and nonprofit communities. One forum each year previews environmental issues for the legislative session through open conversation with legislative leaders. Other forum topics have addressed water quality, mining, energy efficiency and a range of other issues.
Environmental Initiative honors and celebrates collaborative environmental projects from across Minnesota through the annual Environmental Initiative Awards program. The call for nominations occurs each February. A panel of independent judges selects finalists in April and winners are announced at an annual dinner celebration each May.
