1.5 % ENERGY EFFICIENCY SOLUTIONS PROJECT

Completed April 2011

Private, public and nonprofit sector leaders identified barriers and strategies to overcome them in order for Minnesota to meet mandated energy efficiency savings goals. Read the final report (PDF) »

MINNESOTA CHEMICAL REGULATION PROJECT – PHASE I

Completed September 2010

Environmental Initiative launched Phase I of the Minnesota Chemical Regulation Project to assess the issues and opportunities facing Minnesota with respect to the state’s approach to chemical regulation and the promotion of green chemistry. Read the final report (PDF) »

green economy partnership process

Completed March 2010

In partnership with the Blue Green Alliance, City of Minneapolis, City of Saint Paul and the State of Minnesota, Environmental Initiative convened a group of stakeholders to develop a plan to implement strategies from the Mayors' Initiative on Green Manufacturing, the Green Job Tasks Force and other green economy initiatives. CLEAN AIR MINNESOTA

For nearly a decade, Environmental Initiative coordinated a voluntary partnership of businesses, environmental groups and government agencies that worked together to reduce air pollution.

Integrated solid waste management process

Completed December 2009

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency contracted with Environmental Initiative to manage and facilitate a collaborative process with stakeholders to recommend strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from solid waste management activities in the four most densely populated areas of Minnesota. LAND and water policy project

Completed July 2009

Stakeholders from federal, state and local government, consulting, nonprofits and business reviewed over 200 land and water resource recommendations from six major reports to identify priorities and action steps to improve the coordination of land and water policies in Minnesota.
